Use cases · Equipment and machines

Every machine and tool, from the yard to the job and back.

Excavators and loaders on the job site, trailers on the road, breakers and generators in a van: where each one is, what it did and what was left behind. And the yard lead hears the night one moves.

Readings on this page are sample data.

The operation

Four places a machine goes missing.

Each stage has its device, and all four write to one record per machine: billed by the job-day, on a record both sides accept. A restoration-equipment brand tracks its drying machines by the job this way and bills them under its own name, for 100+ restoration customers.

A machine moves after hours

Draw the yard once and set its working hours. When EX-12 leaves at 11:40 PM, an incident opens and the yard lead has a text a minute later, with the machine's path on the map while it is still moving. At 34 mph, it is on a trailer.

Kit left on a closed job

Each unit shows on the job, in the van or back in the yard. When a job closes with a unit still on site, it lands on a left-behind list and a pickup incident for the crew, before the next job needs it.

A Sense tag on each breaker, compactor or generator reports through the nearest Link, so the last place each was seen is on record: Generator G-4 was last heard in Yard 2 on Monday, not at Site 14.

What goes in

What goes in at each site.

  • A tracker on each machine

It reads the machine's own engine hours, fuel and where it is, over the cellular network.

  • A tag on equipment with no engine

Compactors, welders and tools carry a Sense tag or an EYE Beacon, heard by the nearest gateway or tracker.

  • A gateway at the yard and the site gate

Link hears every tag nearby and reports over its own SIM, with its own position.

  • Set up with you

Each site's zones, its working hours, and who hears first and next.

Questions

Before you ask.

Something we haven't answered? Ask it on the call, or write to [email protected]

Do we need new trackers?

Often not. Send us the tracker and what it sends; our team adds it. Where you need new ones, we supply Teltonika, Omnicomm and Ruptela devices with the SIM.

Can a machine be stopped from starting?

Not from OneIoT yet. Blocking the start with a driver ID and a relay is integration work we scope with you; today a move out of hours opens an incident the minute it happens.

Which machine brands can it read?

Position and hours from any supported tracker. For engine data across brands, Teltonika's ALL-CAN300 reads construction and farm machines; the values depend on make, model and year, and we check them before install.

Miles or kilometers?

Both. Each user picks; the record keeps the reading as it arrived.
