Use cases · Crew safety

Crew safety, from the gate to the roll-call.

Who came through the gate, which zone each crew is in, and an SOS that reaches the site lead within the minute. When the alarm sounds, who is still inside. Tag IDs and zones only, seen by the people who need them.

The operation

Four moments in a site's day.

Each has its device, and all four write to the same record.

When the alarm sounds

Who is out, and who is still inside.

The roll-call counts who reached the muster point and lists who was last seen inside, by zone: tag IDs and zones only, for the people who need them.

Along the way

What has to reach someone in time.

A worker alone presses SOS

Press SOS on the Halo tag inside the hard hat: an incident opens, the site lead hears by push and SMS with the zone the worker was last in, and it escalates if no one answers. In the sample above, the site lead acknowledged H-07's SOS in two minutes.

Who is on site, and in which zone

Halo and Badge tags are counted by zone, so the site lead knows who is where and the roll-call is ready. A person's own trail opens only to the roles you name, each time it is opened is logged, and it is never used for ranking or discipline.

What goes in

What goes in at each site.

  • A tag in each hard hat

Halo carries the SOS button and tells which zone its wearer is in.

  • A badge for crews without a hard hat

An SOS button, presence by zone, and RFID for the doors.

  • A gateway at the muster point and the gate

Link Indoor hears every tag nearby; a Link outdoors reports over its own SIM.

  • Set up with you

Each site's zones, its muster point, and who hears an SOS first.

    SOS and the roll-call

An SOS that reaches the site lead with the zone, and a roll-call that counts who reached the muster point. We set both up with your first site.

Questions

Before you ask.

Something we haven't answered? Ask it on the call, or write to [email protected]

Who can see where a person is?

Only the groups you allow can see a person. Presence and hours are for planning and bills — never ranking or discipline.

Does it track people after they leave the site?

No. Halo is a short-range tag heard only by the gateways on your site, so there is nothing to report once a worker is past the gate.

Is it recorded when someone looks at a person's location?

Yes. A person's trail opens only to the roles you name, and each time it is opened is logged.

How long is a person's location kept?

For as long as your site needs it. We set the period with you.

Does Halo know when someone goes down?

No. Halo has an SOS button. Man-down comes from Teltonika's GH5200, which we add next. It runs on 2G networks only, so we check coverage at your site first.

Does SOS on a Halo open an incident?

Yes — it opens one and reaches the site lead, with the worker's last zone.

What if nobody answers?

The next person on the chain hears, then the next; the record shows who was tried and when.
